Nintendo has confirmed at the Nintendo Direct presentation that Animal Crossing will come to the Nintendo Switch in 2019. A trailer was released which showed Isabelle, your assistant, hinting about the game in development.
This is a new mainline entry, as said by Nintendo, and is currently going by the title of Animal Crossing for Nintendo Switch. This comes after the game debuted in 2013 for the Nintendo 3DS with the title Animal Crossing: New Leaf.
Fans of Animal Crossing have been anticipating for a new addition of the game as the previous title was met with a lot of positive results.
The gameplay for Animal Crossing involves the player to assume the role of a human character living in a village with animals. The game is a community simulaton game where the gameplay is open ended and players have no defined objectives. Instead, players interact with animals in several activities like fishing, planting, collecting items or socializing with the residents of the village.
The game has a notable feature of customization which affects the outcome of the game. Customization does not end with character costume, but the player can also decorate the house as they want or expand it to their liking.
Collection of items in the village plays an important role, as you are explore and gather resources in exchange for items you can use for personal customization.
Nintendo Animal Crossing Edition
Nintendo has not provided any details, other than the working on the title and 2019 release. But they however have indicated that Isabelle, the assistant in Animal Crossing, will be featuring in the upcoming Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, which will release on December 7, 2018.
So we still have to wait for a confirmation of the release date by Nintendo, and the only little feature of Isabelle in Super Smash Bros, Ultimate will have to suffice.
